Buying across borders: import duty, warranty and the country switcher

Set the country switcher to where the parcel will actually be delivered. Offers are filtered to merchants that ship into that region, which removes listings you could not have bought anyway.
Import duty is charged on the declared value plus shipping in most regions, and it is collected before the courier releases the parcel. Factor it in before comparing against a domestic price.
Manufacturer warranties are frequently regional. A two-year warranty bought abroad may only be serviceable in the country of purchase, which is a real cost if the device fails.
Where the difference is under roughly ten percent, buying domestically is almost always the better decision once returns and service are priced in.
